How repairs work
1. Tell me what's wrong
Use the form or email [email protected]. A photo and the model number help a lot.
2. Drop-off
We set up a time for you to drop it off or meet up. I'll write down what the device is, what's wrong with it, and anything already damaged, and send you a copy.
3. Free look and a quote
I take a look and give you a flat price. Nothing gets done until you say yes. If I find something else while I'm in there, I ask before doing anything that changes the price.
4. Repair and pickup
Most computer jobs take 1 to 3 days. Board-level work and anything that needs a part ordered can take longer, and I'll tell you when you drop it off. I'll message you when it's ready.
Payment
Cash or Venmo when you pick it up. If you don't approve the repair or I can't fix it, you don't owe anything.
Warranty
My work is covered for 30 days. If the same problem comes back in that time, I fix it again at no charge. Parts are covered by their own manufacturer warranty. This doesn't cover new damage, like drops or spills.
Your data
I don't look through your files, photos or accounts. I only touch what the repair needs. If you can, back up anything important before you drop off a computer. Failing drives can lose data on their own, and I'll tell you if I think yours is at risk before I do anything.
Passwords
For some computer jobs I need to log in to test it. You can give me a password and change it after, or stay with the device while I test it.
Things left behind
If a finished or declined repair isn't picked up within 60 days after I've tried to reach you, I'll recycle it or keep it for parts.
What I won't work on
CRT TVs and monitors, microwaves, and anything where the risk to me or you isn't worth it. If I'm not the right person for something, I'll tell you and try to point you to someone who is.
Businesses
For shops and businesses I can give you a written quote and an invoice.
Tell me what's broken
Send me what it is and what it's doing. A photo helps. I'll get back to you, usually the same day, with whether I can fix it and what it'll cost. If I can't fix it, you don't pay anything.
